1. I would like pursue an all around lawn service business.
2. The who would be: homeowners, real estate companies, businesses, strips of vacant land owned by county or state. The what is that people and agencies are not able to do their own lawn care needs. The why would be that there are many people that who do not have time, can not physically do the job, or just do not want to do it.
3. I believe everyone in my who share this need. Anybody who has property and does not or can not do it themselves. Some people will have their why because of multiple reasons including: not enough time to do it, or they do not have the capability of doing it themselves.
4. While interviewing the five people I have seen that some of the people have this opportunity (4 out of 5). They seemed happy with the idea of not having to worry about their yard since they have so many things to do and no time. Some peoples need stemmed from not enough time (3 out of 5). The other two people's opportunity stemmed from not being able to physically do it themselves. Overall it seems this a big opportunity. The only thing I was not expecting was that two of the four that have this opportunity could not afford to pay someone to do it.
Hey Peter, great blog post as usual. I think in most environments there's always room for lawn services, so I believe it's a great idea. With low barriers for entry, it's a great opportunity to explore at relatively low costs and obstacles. One thing I would consider and implore about is what sets you apart from other lawn services. What makes other people want to choose your service over others? Whether it's low prices, better service, or something else that makes you stand out, that's something to think about.
ReplyDeleteHey Peter,
ReplyDeleteLawn service is generally in high demand depending on where you are at and if it is seasonal. At least in my area there are a lot of lawn services though so it is important that you find a way to separate you from the rest, whether it be low price or whatever. Homeowners in large neighborhoods will probably be your best bet. Finding a group of neighbors and offering a low price if they all choose you to take care of their yards.
Hey Peter, I think your idea is intuitive. There's plenty of landscape that are not properly maintained and could use your opportunity. In addition, some people may not be able to it themselves due to lack of machinery or lack mobility. Your opportunity would be able to reach people with the great need at an affordable cost.
